Posted photo of my attempt to convert an SPG785 to a 3 piece rod. The main reason for this thread is to encourage new builders to learn from the experienced guys like Ralph O'Quinn who published a great article in volume 4 of RodMaker magazine of how to make ferrules, or Lynn Williams in volume 10 showing us how to make a PVC Rod Dryer chuck. If I'm was able to build them, so can you. Re: Converting 1piece rod blank to 3 piece

Nice effort Steve
Its a personal thing, but I hate the appearance of over-ferrules in multi piece conversions I do all of mine with internal spigots..................I have quite a few & they get used hard...................never had a breakage. Have done a few with tip-over-butt ferrules but that takes a bit more work in matching/ modifying blanks . There have been a few posts on the internal spigot ferrule multi-piece conversions.......................give one of those a try when you next have need for a multi-piece conversion.......................... they are much more pleasing to the eye......................but maybe thats just me.
