Need rod builder information

Dear Friends,

A gentleman called me the other day to ask about a rod warranty that he had assumed I would honor as the rod was labeled very close in name to my business. He received the rod as a gift in approx 2002. and the rod was labeled "Tight Line Custom Pro Series" It is a casting rod at 6'-0" and of medium action with a retail value at approximately $250.00. He stated that when he searched the internet and found my website, he saw that I only built fly rods and probably could not help much in the way of warranty replacement but would call anyway.

He had broken the rod and was wishing to take advantage of the "Lifetime Warranty" as listed on the rod labeling. I obviously could not honor the warranty but stated I would ask on this board if anyone knows or ever knew of any builder or mass producer that had made rods with this particular labeling. This is the second occurance of someone calling me about this builder's rods.

I can understand his desire to have his rod replaced, so if anyone has information leading to the location of the potential builder of this rod, please let me know here or my email and I will pass it along to the other fella as I said I would.

Thanks for your time and effort.

Charlie

Thanks Walt,

The link given only takes me to a searching tool for registering domain names. Did I miss something? I even tried it in a different IE6 window and it gave me the same result.
Let me know if I need to do anything else with the info as I would like to help this gentleman.

You might remind him that a "Lifetime Warranty" does not necessarily mean that broken rods will be replaced. Broken and defective are often 2 entirely different things. Depends on what the rod was warranteed against - defects or breakage.
