Recoil Simple Spiral

Has anyone done a simple spiral wrap with recoil guides?

Rod is a bass rod built on a lamiglas LMB843 with a split grip.

Was thinking about a DF sz 10 as a butt guide, DF sz 8 as the first 180 and SF fly guides as the running and bumper guides. Going to use a fuji Ti as a top.

Another question, are the RSF fly guides the same size as the casting guides? In other words is a sz 6 RSF the same ring size as a sz 6 casting guide?

The type guides you use doesn't matter.

The first 180 guide should be the same size, or smaller, than the rest of the running guides.

I have used the recoils for a revolver style spiral, I just used the equivalent in style to a normal build. I would imagine they would work the same with a Simple spiral setup.

I built a rod just as you explained for a client and he fishes it daily. It came out very nice and casts like a dream.
