Rod Building Symbol

Any body seeing them out and around? I have spotted about a dozen vehicles since August sporting a decal. Managed to stop and talk to one guy who said he was a Rodmaker subscriber and attends the ICRBE each year. I have even got my wife keeping an eye out for them now! Just wondered how things were going and if anyone else was seeing or meeting any other rod builders because of it.

Also, is it possible to get one or two more at the ICRBE.? Will there be any on hand there?

Requests for free decals come in every day. There has not been a single day since the introduction of the symbol that I haven't gotten requests in each morning's mail. It has slowed a bit lately, however. This morning there were only 3 requests in the Post Office Box. Earlier, I've had as many as 90 come in on a single day.

The guys who distribute them in Europe and Australia say they've gone briskly. I try to keep them supplied as best I can.

To date, over 40,000 decals have been provided, free of charge, to any and all who have requested them. Although that's a large number, with 300,000,000 people here in the U.S. alone, the density of builders and decals is still small. But it will continue to grow. I think I've spotted 3 or 4 here in my area in the past couple months.

I will have a stack of decals available at the Expo and each person who buys an admission ticket will get a decal, free of charge, as they come through the door. I believe I have enough left to handle everyone that attends.

At present, there are six known vehicles and one alligator named Clyde that will be displaying the Rodbuilder International Symbol symbol traveling to High Point from the bayou state.

Path of travel for vehicles - Houma/Lafayette/Shreveport/Baton Rouge/Pierre Part, Mobile, Montgomery, Atlanta and northward on I-85 to High Point. One will be pulling the Purple and Lime Swampland trailer full of goodies. This invasion task force start on Wednesday before the show and is scheduled to arrive on in High Point on Thursday night.

Path of travel for Clyde - Bayou Lafourche, Intercoastal Waterway, Tom Big B water way, Duck River and bar ditches to High Point - Clyde will depart next Monday. Bob McK has once again promised to chunk a chicken out his back door next weekend.

Here is the deal - If you see one of the vehicles and can log the licence number your name will be placed in a hat for the drawing of a complete custom rod package including Castaway HG High Modulus Blank and fully exposed reel seat, Swampland grip set and set of Batson Micro guides. If you turn in more licence plates that others you will win without a drawing. All entrants turning in a correct Louisiana Licence plate bearing the symbol will receive a surprise Laganippe gift.

Louisiana residents not eligible for drawing - you already got boudin and Cajun Lagnaippe Hot Sauce - what more do you need!

Sam: Clyde fully understands the situation - we still look for all the customers in the Gainsville area that we can find - evidently there is a shortage of custom rodbuiders down that way - )>

Not from me, no.

I have made it possible for others to license (at no charge) the use of the symbol by means of signing a simple copyright agreement that states they agree not to alter the symbol nor use it in any way that would detract from its intrinsic value to the craft. No one has signed the statement thus far, so there is no legal sale of clothing with the symbol on it at this time. I suspect that will change in the near future, however.
