Will drying epoxy at 18 rpm mess up the finish? Thanks.

No, that is probably the most common speed. It's a matter of preference Whatever speed you like. I prefer hand turn, then 2/3 rpm while some I know use 30/40 rpm.

I used to use the 40RPm motors, that definitely caused the finish to climb up the legs and form bumps/valleys when applying a lot of epoxy on a Dec Wrap. I switched to 18 and have much better results. I wouldn't mind having a few 8 RPM motors, but I'm not sure where to find them sine allelectroics stock apparantly dried up after the rodbuilders run on motors back in 2002, lol.

Bily, I can get you a bunch of 6RPMS if you are willing to figure out how to make a shaft for them (its a whopping 3/8" long if I remember right)

I went to 40s recently and definitely thinking about going back to the 6s or just slightly faster around 10.

I use a rotisserie motor turns about 6 or 7 rpm works great and at that speed I can also apply the finish very easily.

Rich, I have a couple of 36rpm motors...i hand turn for to get the finish smooth..then start the motors...beautifull finish every time....but...I would like to get a couple 6-8rpm...i think it would save time and be much easier

I am using a motor taken from one of those Christmas decoration lawn deers. You know the kind that have all those lights and moves his head up and down. Well the lights kept burning out so now the motor is mine... about 5 and a half rpms.... works great
