Is it possible to cut a circle into cork handle around about where your hand grips rod and add a coin inlay? Can i fill it up with flex coat high build? Has anybody tried this and if so got any pics?
Thanks
Frank

Several have done it - you can do it too. Should be some photos on the photo page but you'll have to search for them.

I have done this but usally put a coin of birth state on the end of the handle. But have also done coins by the reel. Flex Coat will turn a yellow color OK for threads but not good on coins. Best to use a clear sealer like Envirtex Lite pour-on I have found and can be gotten in hobby stores.

Both ThreadMaster and LS Supreme High Build would be good choices for covering the coin. They remain relatively clear.

I use the water color paint plates used in elementary schools, place the coins in the tray and fill with Threadmaster. They pop right out of the circles with a little help. Then you can either sink them into the cork butt by cutting out the spot or reverse that and use them as a butt cap. Its quick and easy.

If you want to put it onto where you will hold the rod handle, try to put a curve in it. then mark and cut out the area. Glue it in, then several thin coats until lever.
