Will Chromaseal cure in colder temperatures, say 50 - 60 degrees, if you wait long enough?
I have already had "issues" with painting epoxy on wraps where I let the CP dry "overnight". I want to make sure that if I wait long enough, that it will completely cure in these lower temps. Any information or suggestion is appreciated. Re: Chromaseal Curing in Cold Temperatures

Chromaseal doesn't cure - it dries.
The solvent or carrier may take longer to dry in colder temps, but dry it will. Overnight is always a good time period for drying a CP. .................. Re: Chromaseal Curing in Cold Temperatures

"Overnight" did not work recently. Is 24 hours enough for this CP in all or conditions? Re: Chromaseal Curing in Cold Temperatures

It depends on the conditions, but generally 24 hours is enough to dry a coat of CP.
When in doubt, contact the manufacturer. .............. Re: Chromaseal Curing in Cold Temperatures

Chromaseal is water based, So it will dry. As with all CP the faster it dries the better. But let it dry until you see the original color come back in the thread. If at all possible after appling move it to a warmer area. You have just contacted the Manufacture. Thanks for using our Products Scott Parsons Re: Chromaseal Curing in Cold Temperatures

Did you get my email concerning thickening in the bottle? Bill in WV Re: Chromaseal Curing in Cold Temperatures

I would make especially sure that you keep chromaseal from cold. When I ordered it, it showed up frozen and it can't be thawed, it just stayed solid like the consistency of silicon, kind of slimy. I had posted a pic of the solid chromaseal form that I cut out of the bottle on the photo page under the micellaneous page.
