Did a rod recently and it was cool looking. Terry Re: dark blue blank- what thread color?

Try any of the dark blues from Gudebrod, no cp let it go translucent, with trim bands of copper or pearl, ether one is beautiful. Re: dark blue blank- what thread color?

I typically do most of mine in Navy with no cp for the stealth look. I have however trimmed them with 2 wraps of silver, copper or even gold for the navy rods that I have done. You may even want to to try cobalt blue non cp with purple and silver accents... I did one on an old im10x alstar blank that I built for a buzzbait rod... LOOKS SWEET! It's hard to find a blank that does not look good with garnet - with or without CP. Re: dark blue blank- what thread color?

I must be a little different, on my dark blue blanks I have used day glow fluorescent Madeira thread that is almost painful to look at on the spool, orange or chartreuse look great. Nearly any color thread will look good on a dark blue blank. Re: dark blue blank- what thread color?

I'm a big fan of contrasting colors, blue blank means yellow or orange. It'll stand out. Re: dark blue blank- what thread color?

I built a St. Croix SCIV that had a deep blue blank. Used Gudebrod Blue Dunn thread with gold metallic trim bands. Really liked the way it turned out and the guy I built it for loved the look.

Gudebrod 245 royal Blue with white NCP trim. Use CP with the std thread to retain the color (I like the contrast) and the white trim really sets it off nicely.
Garnet (gudebrod 206) also with white trim is a great combo as well. Terry Re: dark blue blank- what thread color?
