Hi Everyone,
Is there a trick to building a tapered ramp of thread from the top end of a cork fly rod grip to the graphite blank (ie instead of having a winding check)? Or do you just wrap and wrap and wrap and build up a profile? Just a bit concerned about not getting a smooth uniformed thread showing under the expoxy if I just wrap randomly. Thanks, Gavin Re: taperd wrap of thread

Hi Gavin,
I recently did a small ramp, using 5 minute epoxy. I put my wrap over that, and then more epoxy to finish. Came out great. Some guys use this technique to make big ramp that creates the illusion of the grip and the blank being one, integrated piece. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
