where's the Bamboo

where can I buy heavy bamboo for an old fashioned surf rod. also do you guys know what kind of bamboo those long range guys use out west.

yes I believe its Calcutta do you know of a link. also I would like to know which type of Bamboo the hands use on the long range boats out of southern California. thanks jerry

Not sure where to find stalks of that stuff these days. But it's grown here so you should be able to locate some. Ask around your local lawn and garden centers. Sounds funny, but they just may know where to get some.
