Madeira thread

The sewing center in my town just started stocking Madeira thread. They have every color available. What a sight to see over one hundred colors before your eyes. My question is what is the recommended type of thread for guide wraps, rayon or polyester? Or can either one be used because all colors are not available in both types.

Thanks in advance,
Larry

#40 polyester is what you're looking for. With Maderia use at least 2 coats of cp. Also remember that all those colors will darken one shade or two when you apply cp.I would suggest buying a color sample card and put a couple of coats of cp over the samples to see how dark they will turn. I have used Maderia for butt wraps and guides on freshwater rods I don't know about saltwater rods.

Like Terry said, CP is a must. Rayon has too many possible problems to even cance it! #40Polyneon ( polyestor) is what you want. Great colors and good thread.

If they are only stocking over 100 colors, they are coming up 250+ colors short. I just ordered a couple of cones of Xtra thread, it is BY FAR the best thread to work with for Dec WRaps, especially if you wrap multiple bands of thread. Lays perfectlyflat, doesnt' twist p at all, vibrant colors with a drop of shine more than the Polyneon Billy 40 thread.
