I was asked to build a 12' 3 piece surf rod for throwing 5-9 oz baits and plugs. Any suggestions on blank and componets would be appreciated. As I Build mostly boat rods I have limited knowlege on surf rods. I would prefer a composite blank.

Thanks Lou

Batson has a W-I-D-E assortment surf rod offerings. Have a look at his website and search to your heart's content! I would recommend a fast action blank if you are going to throw plugs.

I don't know of too many 3 pc. surf blanks other than the Daiwa Ballistic series.
