there are actually a lot of sources for finely made DOMESTIC (united states) bamboo fly blanks. i bought one awhile ago i have yet to wrap. it's a 2/2 made to my requested taper, flamed, ferruled and hollow built for under $300 though many will hover around $400-$600. email me and i can supply a short list of sources.

Boyd Rod Company, listed to the left is one possible source. They're a sponsor as well.

I have two sources for better quality imported bamboo blanks and one source for domestic made blanks. None of these are in my online catalog but I can discuss them over the phone.

I have some hand made bamboo blanks on hand - drop me an email and let me know what you're looking for (length / pieces / taper). I may be able to help you out. If you want them ferruled as well I also have some nice REC nickel silver ferrules.

Thanks for the nod guys, but I don't sell many blanks. Once in a great while I'll make one for a friend, but not too often. I recommend some of those mentioned above (Ken), plus Tim Zietak, Dennis Stone, Chris Carlin, and a few others.

For anyone who went to (or heard about) the last I-CAST in Las Vegas a couple of my rod blanks were used to build rods that were on display. I've seen Tim Zietak's work - EXCELLENT.
