Sorry to hear that! That is a great blank even at the price Fishsticks was charging for it. I thought they were going to continue to stock them but at the much higher price of $170 a copy. One of my rodbuilder friends tells me that you can still get them but you have to buy 25 at a time! :>(

The SUR1505F is very close maybe 2oz. flex height heavy and a bit more power.

I traditionally flexed these by hand feel for you and found the SUR1505 felt the closest to the SU1418. Also we have a flex board that we add weight to for action consistency and inspection. These blanks are loaded with two pounds of lead during inspection. The flex height and width is determined and documented for future comparisons and inspections. Both the SUR1505F and SUR1385 are within 2-3 inches flex of the old SU1418 so thus determining these are a bit stiffer than the 1418. I hope this helps you in the future. Best Regards, Karry Batson
