Hi Guys -
I want to make a couple of U Texas casting rods for myself and am looking for some orange or burnt orange guides to go on the rods. Any whelp from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Re: SIC Guides with colored inserts ?

You can't dye SIC rings and none that I know of use shock inserts any longer. Coatings can be applied to rings, but they tend to wear through.
Best best is to use that color scheme in your wraps. ................. Re: SIC Guides with colored inserts ?

Ron,
I'd look at painting the blank burnt orange and use white thread for your guides. I doubt you'll find brunt orange guides. If you're in the Austin area, you can easily find burnt orange paint. If not, send me an email and I can pick some up for you. The other idea is use burnt orange thread with white accents on a black or natural rod. Ron,
I've got a couple of die-hard UT fans myself. Use a neutral or black blank and wrap with Gudebrod #257 (Rust) and white. They should be happy with that. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
