Batson Forecast RX6 SB841-3 Clear Gloss 7'0" 3 6-12lb. 1/8 - 3/8oz. 0.605 5.5 Fast Medium-Light
I am working on my third 3 piece spinning rod using Batson's blanks. Great products, people and dealers. A friend built one on the blank referenced here and its a delight for bass and trout fishing here on the Finger Lakes. Its 6 inches shorter than what you are asking for. I am occasionaly rod builder, so there is a good chance others will correct me on this, but I dont think there is a really wide selection in 3 piece spinning or casting blanks. I found St. Croix and American Tackle have some. I'm looking to see what else is posted in response to your question. I'm using Penn SSg reels on these rods. Not the most sophisticated reel in the world, but little complaint abut the functiona;ity or ruggedness. Their fairly light too. . Re: 3pcs. Spinning rod

The term "action" is not defined as ML . Action is defined as fast or slow or medium fast, slow, ect.
Light, Medium, Heavy, (L, M, ML, MH, H,) are terms for discribing Power not action. Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: 3pcs. Spinning rod

I never cared for two piece action spinning rods so I pretty much stopped using anything but 1 pc. Is the action on a 3 pc, (if done properly) comparable to a 3 piece? It would be nice to have a rod I could keep in the car all the time because I have a small car and I can barely wedge my rods in, so there is no leaving them in the care for impromptu fishing. Thanks.

James, I have several 3 and 4 peice rods. I can find no reason why two or more joints contributes anything negative to the way those rods cast or fish. When rods were solid fiberglass or bamboo, the number of ferrules was an issue. Not anymore. Old ideas die hard! Re: 3pcs. Spinning rod

Check out Mudhole's Lamiglas Clearance. There is a 3 pc., 7'6" popping blank that might fit your needs. I just ordered one for myself. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/13/2008 05:14PM by George Forster. Re: 3pcs. Spinning rod

Years ago, there MIGHT have been a difference due to poor quality ferrules but with todays blanks, I don't feel that I give up anything in performance and gain a lot in portability. I don't think that you can even find one pc fly rods anymore. I built a 4 pc 6' St Croix spinning rod that is SWEET Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: 3pcs. Spinning rod

The IM 700 blank George selected would serve you well for many species and types of fishing, fresh and saltwater. The IMP9033 in the saltwater section. Re: 3pcs. Spinning rod
