Gentlemen:
I mostly do saltwater rods, a base wrap and a guide wrap and use regular nylon thread with no cp. Occasionally I will use cp.When I do I have I have used primarily Flex Coat , U40 or Gudebrod. I some times find particles suspended in the cp or it has gotten too thick etc.and I always hold my breath hoping the final results will be satisfactory. Are there any new products out there that I may not have tried yet that has ease of application with good results? Any recommendations are appreciated. What do you use? Thanks again, Tom Re: Need Your Opinion On CP !

Flex Coat CP is hard to beat. There was an article in the Rodmaker magazine some years ago that spelled out what caused particles to suspend in CP and how to prevent it. Not sure I remember the cause or the solution but it's in there somewhere. Back in volume 4 or 5 I think. Re: Need Your Opinion On CP !

ChromaSeal (Threadmaster) is a very good CP that I use.
I find it is important to stir CP gently before use...shaking creates air bubbles. I don'tdilute it even if it is thick. I wet threads thoroughly but do not over do it. Not sure what to do about particulates. I usually remove them with my brush if they show up on the thread work. Good wraps! Les Re: Need Your Opinion On CP !

Tommy,
One thing you can do to remove impurities in the CP is to strain/filter it through a pair of your wifes knee high hose. They work well to remove overly large pieces of pigment powder from "cheap"airbrush paint. Pass the CP through them (stretched across the mouth of the bottle) two plied for large pieces, and fold in half and have four layers to remove the real small stuff. You may have to squeeze lightly to force it through the mesh. Eric Re: Need Your Opinion On CP !

I use Chromaseal (Threadmaster or U-40 Colorlok and stir thoroughly. I NEVER dilute for any reason. Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
