Well, Since my deer hunting hasn't really been going as planned, and I had to have hernia surgery, I decided to work on a few rods. I have 2 old Browning / Lews Cranking Rods that a friend asked me to completely refinish for him. Both of these have the off-set reel seat that positions the rear grip high on the reel angling back and down. Actually, holding the rod with a reel feels pretty good but I have never used any of these. This set up puts your hand higher up on the reel giving the reel a compact feeling.
Anyway, does anyone make these off-set reel seats? I need to replace 1 for this customer and would like to try and build with 1 too. Thanks, Steve Re: off-set reel seats

About the only off set reelseat I can think if that is also a blank thru seat is the Schaefer's Super Sticker #363, 4 or 5. They also make it in the pistol grip version still I believe. If your talking the old school rod blank is in a ferrule that attached to the reelseat version with a pistol grip, I think there are still places in Japan that makes those, but I haven't seen any around in the US in years. I'm sure there are builder/rebuilders here that may have a few or parts around maybe. Re: off-set reel seats

Hi Steve,
We have a few of the original Browning "drop" handles, 9" cork rear grip, "quicklock" foregrip similar to Fuji. The graphite reel seat is "stepped down", the rear cork grip is angled down slightly, the blank fits up inside the reel seat.
