I have never tried myself, but others have told me the GReen can of Weldwoon is not nearly as good as teh REd can. You might want to give that one a shot, as tehre are no solvents in the green can, its' water based. What exactyl are you doing with teh foam? REgular color change inlays, or more intricate stuff?

I've heard from people in teh woodworking industry that there is a push to ban solvent based contact cement. Teh stuff certainly is nasty.

Morris,
Listen to your body.
If you are alergic to something - stop using it and never use it again.
Your body is saying STOP. Persist, and the body will be punished.

It is also possible that you don't have enough ventilation in your work area. Many things that are used to assemble rods have solvents that evaporate of some sort. Many of these solvents are less than optimal for the human body.
For any one working with their hands and using liquids that may have an evaporative content - VENTILATE the work area. Easy to say, it is ONLY for a little bit. I can stand it. I can put up with it.

All of these things add up to BAD things, called poor health and possible DEATH. Be smart, think smart and listen to your body.

Ventilate your work space with good ventilation, heat, cooling and air movement.

Take care
Roger
