Call your local dry cleaner and ask. They run into stuff like this all the time and may have a fix.

Then again, they may tell you to just buy another shirt.

Adhesive or rod finish?

Lite or high build?

Doesn't matter-It ain't comin' out-just curious.

There's an endorsement for aprons.

My rod building wardrobe is growing, too. Food Lion has the best price on Kibbles and Bits.

Jan,
I have a product that works very well.
I have several sewing machines and material.
Pick up a piece of matching material, cut out the part of the shirt and sew in a new matching piece of material.
When well done, you won't be able to see the change.

Epoxy, really pentrates the fabric. I expect that when you look closely, you will find that the epoxy has completely penetrated the fabric and is actually coming out the back side of the shirt. As a result, each and every shirt fiber in the epoxy area of the shirt has a little envelope of epoxy around the thread that is cross linked to the next piece of thread. If you do anything to melt, or dissolve the epoxy, you will very likely destroy the associated threads that are trapped in the glue.

So, either cut out the epoxy and sew in a new piece of material, or go purchase a new shirt, and use the shirt with epoxy on it for the "Special times that you are working on a very special rod". You will then have your sunday best in that rod.

Take care
Roger

p.s.
The epoxy won't come out of the shirt, without cutting the fabric out of the shirt.

However, to avoid such an occurance from happenning in the future, get in the habit of obtaining and using a shop apron.

Many of us that work at rod building, use shop aprons all of the time. It is much better and easier to leave the epoxy drops on the apron hanging on the peg at the end of a long day of rod building.

When your last "Sunday Go To Church Shirt" is marked with the the hard stuff the wife will be seeking an effective remover with " Husband" on the label. Better to hit the street shirtless than being without pants!

That's an easy fix. Throw it in the washer and blame it on your wife when it comes out. Ask her if she's using new detergent because it's leaving marks on your Sunday best. Works every time...lol

Better buy the large bag of "Kibbles and Bits"...sounds like your going to be in the dog house for some time.

Thanks for the entertaining post.

I think Johnny Cash had a song out titled, "Your in the dog house now".

I think you should pick up a copy.

Bill-

I think that was "You're In The Jailhouse Now" by Web Pierce but the principle is certainly the same. You are making me show my age. Jan still hasn't told us what "PT" is.

A little lighthearted banter is a pleasant change.
