Batson VSR guide selection

Hello all, and thanks for your help now and in the past. I am going to build a spinning rod I will use at times for inshore saltwater fishing. I am looking at Batson's VSR guides. For corrosion resistance, would I be better to chose the double black chromed guide, BVS3TLG , the polished and unplated SS316 guide, XVS3TLG, or something else? In a related question, why are the TiCH PVD guides in the SS316 stainless steel not recommended for salt water application?

If it were me, I would go with the uncoated SS316, and I would be sure to rinse off the rod after every outing. The TiCH coated guides are more likely to develop corrosion than plain SS.

TC
A PVD coating used on many Forecast® and Alps guide frames. The same
as PVD TiCh only without chrome underneath. Adds hardness
and corrosion resistance to guide substrates. Great for salt water
applications, it is a beautiful gun smoke color.

PVD TiCh
A PVD coating used on guide frames for freshwater use. It adds
hardness and makes a beautiful jewelry-like finish. Popular on
fly rod stripper guides and bass rods. Not recommended for
saltwater applications.

Kerry, thanks for the response! So XTCVS3TLG gets me the SS 316, PVD coated, but without chrome? I follow it now, I think. Great stuff, I love your mega dealer concept too.
