I did a search and could not find anything on this. I have a guy that wants me to marble his whole rod. If I do this will it affect the action of the rod? Also about how much weight do you think it will add? Some of you may have done this. Pros, Cons? Any feed back would be great.
Thanks Bobby Re: Can you marble a whole rod?

This guy does it almost exclusively. Looks good, but I imagine adds a lot of weight to the blank

That's right - it would add a considerable amount of weight to the rod, enough to change the rods characteristics to a noticeable degree.
Plus, epoxy is not really meant to be a surface coating and can have problems when used over large areas. ............. Re: Can you marble a whole rod?

Yep, I coated an entire Gator Glass blank once. A couple months later the finish began cracking and flacking off. Re: Can you marble a whole rod?

Scott how'd you manage that? Bad prep?
I have rods over 8years old on gator and shakespeare blanks that are just fine fully coated with epoxy. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
