OK, for all you folks who build your own driers. I want to build a 4 rod drying machine, and I need a source for pulleys and O-ring drive belts. Any help appreciated. Bill in WV Re: Need some help

McMaster-Carr will have everything you need and then some. You may just want to look at a Pac Bay 4 rod dryer. I run mine a ton, and you can buy one for less than you can build one. Re: Need some help

If you decide to go it on your own, don't overlook Graingers. They carry a lot of that stuff as well.

I don't know just how long you plan to do this, but I am VERY VERY VERY happy with my Flexcoat quad dryer and the remarkable service that I received from Roger at Flexcoat in having it customized to my specific needs.
While the initial investment is higher than most, it is my opinion that the longer term costs are lower AND the satisfaction is higher. Re: Need some help

William,
Another rod dryer design that works very well is the style that uses a single center support along with 3 or so plywood circles that have lined notches in the circles. The rods are places in the slot and held in place with rubber bands. Of course the rod is placed such that the plywood circles do not interfer with the guides. Then, just a single motor drives the single center support for the driving shaft on which are placed the notched plywood circles. If you use a 12 inch circle, you can dry about a dozen rods at one time with this system, using a single motor - with no belts or pulleys. Essentially, you will have about a 15 inch by 15 inch box - with a door on the front - to place and remove rods, and it may be easily heated with a couple of light bulbs - if necessary. Mount it against the ceiling and it effectively is out of the way. Take care Roger Re: Need some help

Thanks all for the responses. I found all that I needed at McMaster Carr. Roger, I don't build that many rods at once so I don't need a dryer that big. Thanks any way!!! Bill in WV Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
