Has anyone used the Batson freshwater E-glass blanks? Recently I repaired a rod with a crushed male ferrule, and it has increased my confidence in altering blanks. As these rods are inexpensive, I am thinking of getting two of the 7 footers, and making a three piece blank with home made ferrules as an experiment. I was pretty impressed with how well the homemade ferrule worked, it was acutally much more interesting than just wrapping a blank.
How are the blanks? Are their weight ranges accurate? Thanks, Tim Re: Batson E-glass Freshwater? Has anyone tried them?

Batsons "E" Glass blanks {Forecast} are the finest "E" you can find anywhere in my estimation.....and this is in both the cast and spin useages and at the same time they do not make you run to a bank to take out a loan.......... Durability with a capital "D"..........Their weight ranges I can attest to from both spin and cast customers I have built for. I have been turned into a "Rainshadow and Forecast" darn near exclusively builder of late due to their outstanding product and EXPERT help....Karry and Bill are just a phone call or "E" mail away...."OUTSTANDING" Tight Lines Tight Wraps Fishin'Stix by Fred Re: Batson E-glass Freshwater? I use lots of the Forecast SPG eglass stuff for rigger rods on the Great Lakes. Very nice slow parabolic action. Haven't had one break yet and the charter guys are @#$%& on equipment. For the price, you can't buy a better eglass blank. Re: Batson E-glass Freshwater? Has anyone tried them?

Made a few SPG 842s into baitcasting rods trolling for trout, and was pleasantly surprised they work well also for throwing the smaller crankbaits, etc. when needed. Re: Batson E-glass Freshwater? Has anyone tried them?

I have used several of these blanks in the last few years, all 1 peice, with great success. Never had a problem and and the action is as described, some are not with other brands. www.blackhorsecustomrods.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
