The Winston company will not devulge this info. Does anyone know how I can find out and then how I can get some? I am building a Winston WT. Thanks. Re: Winston Thread Wrap Color - mystery?

I believe that's a green blank much like the Batson Olympic green. I'd look at Gudebrod dark green with no CP. Re: Winston Thread Wrap Color - mystery?

Hi, I just posted a thread ("colour preserver") looking for similar info. I am building up a Burkheimer and it is a very similar green to the colour of Winston's WT. I tried a bunch of combinations this weekend with different finish. The Gudebrof Dark Green with Flex Coat Lite was, in my view, the closest out of all the Gudebrod threads. The red/scarlet/candy apple was way off though. I suspect that Winston use silk thread with at least one coat of CP. This enables the colour of the blank to bleed through to some extent to keep it very toned down, but also allows the thread colour to stand out - may be wrong (hence my thread above).
Best, Gavin Re: Winston Thread Wrap Color - mystery?

spencer is exactly right. they also use crimson trim wraps with the dark green. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
