How much difference in feel is there between RX6 and RX7 in the spin bass blanks. I have heard many people say they actually prefer the RX6 in fly blanks, but I am interrested in spinning blanks only.
Thanks, Marc Re: Batson Spin Bass RX6 vs. RX7

from my limited experience I will say that I much prefer the rx7's. I have only built sb720's in the spinning line up though.

I have only built fly rods on RX6 & RX7 blanks althoug I have and am planning on building a spinning rod on RX7. With the fly blanks, the RX6 makes a slower rod, prefered by flyfishers who like the traditional slower feel even though Batson says it's meduim-fast. The RX7 builds a faster rod, which I prefer although it's not lightning fast like their RX8 blanks. I just LOVE my RX7 rods!! I guess like Robert said, it just depends on what you like to fish with. I would guess that RX6 would be better for slinging bait and the RX7 would excell w/ lures. I'm sure someone w/ more knowlage than me will chime in soon>
Good Luck!! Snooker Pete Re: Batson Spin Bass RX6 vs. RX7

In my experience the Actions between the 2 are very close for a given model. The difference being the RX7 weighs less and has a higher recovery speed. I think there is a difference in potential durability because the RX7s can get the lighter weight from smaller diameters, thinner walls, etc. If I'm building for someone that expects and appreciates a sensitivity/speed potential, that there is a small potential for breakage and the finished rod fits within his/her budget I use RX7.
One thing that I've found is that by using the component and build weight savings I've learned here makes huge difference in offsetting many customers commonly held belief, based on factory rods, that an "IM6" rod is a low-cost, low performance, entry-level rod. This has made it possible to help customers use their Family-CFO approved budget to get species/technique specific rods which imo is extremely important to fishing success at reasonable cost. Now if they can afford a complete range of rods built on higher-modulus I'm cool with that too. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
