Expo Notes

I received word late last week that the Radisson had sold out our entire room block for the 2009 Expo. This is the earliest that a block of that size has sold out in the nearly 6 year history of the International Custom Rod Building Exposition - 17 weeks to go and we've already filled all the rooms.

I was able to add another 50 rooms, but at this rate they won’t last more than a couple weeks and that will be it - the hotel will be fully booked for that weekend. If you want to stay right across the street from the Showplace facility, you need to book your room now. Call the Radisson at 336-889-8888 and tell them you want the special rate for the Custom Rod Expo. Rooms at that rate are $79 per night and can be had for Thursday through Sunday nights.

There are alternative hotels within walking distance of the Expo. Please consult the official event website at www.rodexpo.com for locations and phone numbers.

Finally, a few comments concerning the last 2 Expos done at our new home here in High Point, NC at the ShowPlace.

Bar none - This show is the finest and largest gathering of custom rod builders and knowledgeable individuals in the industry today. We feel very honored to be part of this GREAT event! We intend to support this industry for years to come.

The value that you deliver per square foot for your vendors is fantastic.  Unsurpassed in this business.  I'm happy to say we're in the black.  Nicely in the black.

This event has it all! The camaraderie of a small event, but all the selection and prices of a large one! It's the ONLY rod building event I now attend each year. Keep it up!
Bob Whittier
Kansas

I wanted to take a minute and thank you for putting on the best rod building show in the industry. I can't even envision what it must take for you to accomplish this. Good job.

Sales Manager Lamiglas

EVERYTHING about the show was great. I can't tell you how much fun I had. I can honestly say I NEVER thought I'd meet so many people from other countries who share the passion I have for building rods. Without the ICRBE that would never have been possible. Thank you.
Billy Vivona
New York

Just the best rod building event on the planet. Nothing else comes close. My wife and I drove almost 2500 miles round trip to attend and let me say that we were not disappointed. We will do this every year that you put on this spectacular event. Way to go. The most rod building stuff and best educational seminars ever assembled at any rod building event. We'll be back.
Chris Talley
Texas

Thanks for another FANTASTIC show! It was a privilege to be among the rod building elite and to be able to absorb all these new ideas. Whatever you've been doing, keep doing it and let me know how Pacific Bay can help.
Bob Lee
CEO Pacific Bay International
Washington

To say I was shocked at the size of this event would be an understatement. I've been to other rod building events over the years and this one just beats the stuffing out of all the rest. No wonder guys fly in from all over the world to attend this event. Well done!
Martin Schlein
California

I figured up the savings I made on rod blanks and other stuff at the show and find that it easily paid for my driving and lodging expenses. Plus I got to attend all the educational seminars as well. Love the show, love the DEALS!
Jack Harold
Maryland

A rod builder can learn more in one weekend at this Expo than in a decade out on their own. The educational seminars are truly top notch.

Virginia

I travelled half way around the world for the 2008 show and had the time of my life. I consider it a privilege that I was able to attend and spend time with a bunch of fantastic people brought together by the craft/hobby/passion we share. While I can't be there in 2009 due to work commitments, I highly recommend to anybody whose even considering going this time to "just do it"...and post lots of photos so I can see what I'm missing!

The Expo is the granddaddy of all the rod building events. Would not miss it for anything!
