I have a question, I am looking for a way to hold my rod while wrapping so I can release my hand, especially when I am wrapping guides fairly tightly (hand wants to give out). I love the wrapper that I have now, it's a 7' bed with rollers. I built this one last year and have wrapped a lot of rods on it and no, I do not want to go to a power wrapper, just not my style. I am just looking for some ideas on this that I am sure some have come up with before.
Thanks, Rob Re: Manual wrapper question

affix an attachment(s) on the sides of your roller stand(s). When your
ready to stop wrapping flip a rubber band or velcro strap from one attachment then over the rod to the other attachment and the rod won't move until you come back to it and remove the band or strap. That sounds pretty good, you think the rubber band is that strong where it will keep the rod from spinning? Re: Manual wrapper question

Be sure to stop the rod with the guides facing down the rod should not move, use a wide rubber band Re: Manual wrapper question

Pull a Velcro Strap over the top on both ends and set tension on blank with pressure. I wrap all rods on a V block stand with no rollers tensioned by Velcro. You can stop at any point and it will hold the required tension. Re: Manual wrapper question

Sounds good, I think I will give the rubber band a try first then I will try Bill's idea. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
