I have a lamiglass 843-3 blank (7' 3wt). When i cc'd the blank the ERN i got was 2.2. When I cc'd the rod at shorter lengths, the ERN gets larger. I had ex[ected the ERN to get smaller as the blank got shorter. I took the cc measurements at different lengths by choking up on the blank. As the blank got shorter it would take more pennys for the blank to load 1/3 of its new length. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Re: CC question

Depends on which end you choke up on - from the butt it will eventually offer less power, from the tip it will eventually offer more.

By the way, what is the AA of the blank in its original length? I have a thought for you.

The AA for the blank is 63. Thank you for your help. Re: CC question

Okay, that's not exactly fast and what I tended to suspect from your initial post. There are some blanks that possess more power in their mid sections than in their butt sections. It's not common, but they're out there and often found in shorter, light line weight blanks. So if you're trimming from the butt you may actually be removing a less powerful portion of the blank and will find the blank to become stouter without a foot or so from the butt.

That is pretty much what I thought. Thanks again. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
