Always been impressed with their finished rods! Don't know much about their new blank line or where they are made but see them listed in the sponsor column now. Not active though. Hopefully will be learning more about them soon! Glad to see a new blank maker enter the market. Could be invigorating!

Phenix is under new ownership for about a year now. They just released a new line of blanks that they are importing from China with materials from Japan. Really nice blanks.

Received 5 blanks , mostly Black Diamond series & one UMBX series. Every rodbuilder who has seen them in Oz thus far has been very impressed. None in service yet, but more being ordered based on just handling these blanks.
I personally have a medium jig stick under construction ( trimmed & just needing guides added now.) & am thus far impressed with its loadcurve at my maximum effort.

Still playing with the guide settings & waiting on some new thread

They have informed me that their component site will be active as of October 1st. They are a new sponsor here. Pehaps we may even see them at the Expo in February.

Mud Hole is pleased to be the first full line distributor of Phenix blanks. The complete offering of Phenix blanks is available for ordering on our web site at:

One word of caution, because this is a new program for Phenix and Mud Hole, lead times can vary on these blanks.

Regards.

i have built 5 rods on their saltwater black diamond blanks they are thin and light i have also seen and pulled on their fresh water rods and they are lighter than the major rod companies since i pulled on this blanks i liked them they have tremendous lifting power they are fast tapered if fished with in their line rating but you have the option to overfished them if you space your guides accordingly here is link to a rod i built it also has some lift test where they were lifting 40 pounds of weight.
