Greetings,
On the theory that someone, out there, knows where I can obtain ( or buy) those pieces for use in repair of my young neighbors broken rod. His rod broke off a few inches(~5") below the (male) ferrule and that ID is .54"; that said, I am looking for a 16" or larger stub, approx. I would intend to fit a stub 'on the inside' of the area containing the break; say + - 8"; whatever is possible. And come think of it, if you may know of assortments of stubs, somewhere; please advise of that, as well. thanks in advance, Bob Marie Oak Bluffs, MA 'shortsy' Re: sources for rod pieces for rod repairs?

Best bet old rods from garage sales, flea markets, and on line @#$%& sites. Pay a dollar for an old rod and stick it in a five gallon bucket, if you want strip it first, good guides save, old broken or corroded throw away, then put in the bucket in the corner of the garage it will hold a lot of repair pieces.
I have one bucket and one coffee can for pieces 18" and shorter, I never throw away old or broken rod pieces, If I fill up the bucket or coffee can, I go through it and sell the excess. Right now I'm starting two new cans, what I got for the pieces paid for the wife's new guides. Re: sources for rod pieces for rod repairs?

If you have a basspro, or gander mountain near you (or walmart even). Ask the fishing department for their old broken rods. They do enough business they just toss those broken ones that come back. I could have unlimited years worth of rod blank pieces with one question at my local bass pro shops. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
