Pac Bay Hi Alloy guides - durability

Just wondering if anyone uses the Pac Bay Hialloy's enough to be able to comment on their durability, both normal wear and general knock around handling. I like some of the frame styles they offer like the new DPL Aero casing guides, and the older M style spinning guides.

Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

I have used these rings in Pac Bay guides for almost 20 years now and they hold up just fine. The actual ceramic has changed only once or twice in a couple of decades (unless it's just recently changed) and although it's not as hard as Zirconia, Silicon Carbide, or Nanolite, everything I have on my rods has with-stood the test of time and kids. I still use the M style of frames on some older rods and they are every bit as good as they were new.

Guess what guides and components were on all G Loomis rods before Shimano bought the company?
