Hi Guys
I have seen the answer to this question on here , but in doing the search couldnt seem to find it this time,so i am sorry to ask .
How long after you coat the whippings with threadmaster do you need to wait before you can use the rod,
As with all the rods i build i can be patient during the build but once its done i just want to get out and play.

Thanks in Advance.

I've heard some say that they keep the finished rod in a warm area for a week before they even consider using it. I agree with Billy, when the finish is dry, its dry. I, like Billy have used my rod the next day and have never had trouble.

Threadmaster high build, I'll use it the next day as Billy suggests. If you have the "lite" version, that may not be the case as it has a slower curing time.

That said, I think a 24 hour cure time with high build threadmaster is a VERY good idea, it can be solivent sensitive before then (ie: bug sprays, sun lotions, lure scents and so on) depending on room temps the rod was subjected too.

8 hours is fine, but 48 hours is more fine.
With all of the work on the rod, it is not a bad idea to give it a couple of days to fully harden. Normally 8-10 hours gives a cured tack free finish. However, a couple of days, really lets things set up and get as hard and as impervious to intrusion as it ever will.
