Now getting requests for 9' Muskie rods. I don't even see anyone making a 9' Muskie blank, so I am guessing I would have to look at a salt water. Any ideas for a blank to start with?
Thanks, Marc Re: 9' Muskie Rods!!!

Light to medium type surf plugging blanks would be my best guess. Many of the muskie lures being cast as are large and heavy as many surf plugging lures and the power requirements would be at least somewhat similar.

GUSA has 8'6 Mega Mag 20-40# 1-5oz and 85 Monster 30-60# 1-8oz, which you could extend by 6". I've sold a few 80 Mega Mag's to guys wanting a Musky blank, and I know one who uses an 80 Monster for Musky. Re: 9' Muskie Rods!!!

You can also consider using a H or XH steelhead blank for throwing bucktails. Re: 9' Muskie Rods!!!

Would any of the backbouncing blanks fits your needs - they seem to be similar to muskie blanks as far as suggested lure weights? Just a thought anyway. Chuck Ungs Re: 9' Muskie Rods!!!

Why not build him what he wants?:
PacBay Rainforest rod: PACRF2SP10862 9' 15-25 1-3oz fast 2pc heavy 6tip 0.537butt 4.0oz PACRF2SP10882 9' 15-30 1-4oz fast 2pc x-heavy 6.5tip 0.637butt 6.2oz These are not listed as "musky blanks" but from the numbers I'd say they'd be perfect. DR Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
