5 or 6 piece Spey Blanks

Hi everyone !

I'm avidly searching a blank to build a travel 2-handed Spey Rod in the 13' to 15' range, 9-10 weight.
It should be at least a 5 piece rod.
The purpose of the rod is fishing for Steelhead in average to big river.
Do you have any idea of the companies who should offer the kind of blank, and which ones are the best prized for the quality ?

Thanks.

Bernard,

Check RB Meiser's site to the left. He offers a couple of blanks in that range as 6 piece. I would send him an email directly and he would help you select other possibilities.

Haven't tried R.B. Meisers Highander rods in your weight or length, but the 5 piece 13 ft Trouter I got to fish in Alaska was the finest spey I've ever had in my hands. Bob set this rod up with line, etc for the customer which I'm sure was a large part of the rod's performance on the water.

I second the motion on the Meiser blanks. I just finished a 5/6 Clearwater 11'7". His blanks are absolutely beautiful. Bob is a great guy to work with. He answered every question I had. You won't be sorry.

Many of R.B. Meiser's blanks are designed by Bob and built by CTS. A lot of their line I'm sure is influenced by Bob's designs.
