As a rookie I have been hesitant to use CP. When I started out I was concerned only with function and wanted nothing to do with anything 'fancy'. Now I realize this mindset was more a result of lack of knowledge and skill rather than what I 'thought' I wanted. I now appreciate everything that you guys say and show.
That being said, to all the other rookies out there, CP rocks. It usually takes me over a week (or three) to build a rod between everything else that @#$%& up my time. I have found that if I apply a little CP on whatever wraps I complete for the day, it seals it up real nice and I can blow off any dust that accumulates over the weeks that it takes me to complete everything else. Another BIG bonus for ME is that it has almost eliminated the bubbles in my finish. The last rod I did, I didn't have to use any heat to pop bubles. The whole epoxy application process just seems easier. I have seen many posts regarding the new stuff, ChromaSeal. Ive been using the flexcoat stuff and haven't had any problems. Is the new stuff that much more superior to the others? I'm waiting for it to come in the mail. Thanks, Steven Re: I heart CP

Stephen,
IMO, Andy's Chromaseal is the best stuff that I have used!!! Threadmaster and Chromaseal is, as far as I'm concerned, a hard combination to beat. If you have to leave semi completed rods/wraps for awhile, you might also just wrap them with plastic wrap to keep dust, etc off of them until you can finish them Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Anothher heads up for newbies. NEVER CP until you have wrapped all the guides. CP well make it hard to realign the guides. If they need some adjustment

Chromaseal is the best we've used. We helped to test iot and it turned out to be everything we hoped for.
