Curious about the value of the Renzetti laser alignment tool. Seems to make sense. Any comments from those who own one? How does it see past the rod supports or do you take those off? Re: Laser alignment

Ken, I take the top part of the rod supports off . I'm not too impressed with it. I do better with the old eyeball. It would be better if the laser had a lot finer line. Re: Laser alignment

Have not tried that but I did rig up one of those laser levelsa couple of years back. I found I could as well or better by eye. Joe Douglas Re: Laser alignment

I've always thought that using a laser to align guides sounds great until you get blanks that aren't laser straight. I wrap a lot of rods and eyeballing is still the best way to align guides because most blanks have a little variance along the bland somewhere.

It works exactly as advertised. But as others have mentioned, using the old eyeball is just about as effective and probably quicker.

We use a laser to establish the line and mark it along the length of the rod with a soft white marker. The rest is done by eye. It's fairly easy to line up the guide fett with the line.

I use mine to align the butt guide, others are done by eyeballing. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
