I use S-Glass, Composites and even low to mid modulus graphite. It really depends on exactly what you are trying to accomplish. E-Glass isn't very high on my list with so many other great choices of material. Re: E-Glass

One man's bass crankbait rod is another man's cobia stick. It has less to do with the material than with the action and the design of the rod. If the action suits the stated purpose, then use it and be happy.

Many people prefer glass for crankbait rods due to the slow reaction time. I would advise that if you want something like this, you take a look at something like the Seeker bass composite rods. They have graphite wraps around lower 1/3rd so you keep the weight down over a full glass blank, but still have that softer and slower reacting glass tip.

I have built a handful of rods on the Lamiglas MB84 1E glass blank and I have had no complaints. It is an excellent med-heavy cranking rod. Finished weight is 5.3oz with micro Alconites and split-grip EVA, ECS17-17mm. I could probably take 0.1oz off or so without the 12gauge buttcap.
