Thanks for the tip top support tool outlined in the new issue Rodmaker. You have solved one of the most aggravating parts of rod wrapping for me. Made one up and installed it this AM and am now in rod building heaven on those teeny blank tips. THANKS!

Stupid me - I've had tip top holder attachments for the Renzetti & Clemens lathe for the past 3 years, I sold a couple at the ICRBE shows, but never put them on my site, or even bothered to mention them. TEhy aren't as elaborate as teh one Lynn made, btu tehy work just as well. I've got about a dozen left, maybe I'll take a few pics tonight and post them on teh board tomorrow.

I've used mine on 3 years worth of rods, it is a GREAT ool and imo a neccesary item to have for any rodbuilder. IT really does make wrapping the last guide & the tip of any rod a breeze.

Billy , I seem to remember you twisting my arm in Charlotte one year to buy one of those. Took a good look at it and went home and made one myself. Sorry I forgot to thank you!

Fred, the ones made for us were done by Jeff Collins, great guy from LI. He has some other unique tools he made himself. It's too bad he gave them to me, I stink selling stuff, lol.

Ken,
I’m glad you liked the article. You are right it was very frustrating wrapping the tip top without a support of some kind. About 5 or 6 years ago I tried some different ideas for tip top support and ended up with this one. I tried to design the tip top support so it would fit as many rod wrappers as possible.
I apologize for the late response; I just got back in town.

I also would like to take this opportunity to thank Tom Kirkman for all the help on writing the article.
