Peel off the top layer of thread on teh spool. See if that helps. If not, you just got a bad spool of thread. TEh cause, who knows - I do know there were posts on here about a month ago saying some spools of Gudebrod were being spooled by someone other than Gudebrod. I have no clue what the deal is, but I do know that I haven't had the problems otehrs have had with Gudebrod - that's not tosay they do not exist.
If you are considering an alternative thread company to use, look into FishHawk. I also just recieved some of Angler's Workshop house brand thread which is very nice and comes in several colors not carried by any other rod building thread comapny. MAdeira is not made fo rRodbuilders, it's an Emboidery thread and has a bit of a learning curve - but it is a great thread once you work with it a few times. Hopefully by next February there will be another Polyester thread made for Rodbuilders which give you the color choices of Madeira, with the workability of Nylons. Re: fuzzy string

I have had big problems with spools of Gudebrod Black Nylon. Big tangles and knots half way down in the spool. They just spooled right over the top of them. Their QC could use a little tightening up. But I never had a problem with fuzzies on any thread. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
