thread match...again

I need to match up a couple of metallic threads. 1 is the green thread used on H&H rods. Looking at the gudebrod line I can't tell what would match so is there something else I can look at or is my colorblindness just killing me? The 2nd is the blue used on Loomis rods. Same thing again, I can't tell by the pics on the sites. Thanks for any help.

Also what do you all do, just buy all the threads?

Color charts are okay to go by, but when you get down to really specific shades you may just have to buy an assortment and have them right there in front of you.

Third similar response ... buy thread. One of the least expensive ways that I know of is to purchase the Pac Bay assortment of nylon and metallic. While it won't cover all the bases, it will cover many AND you will at least have a reference point to pass along to your vendor of choice.

Once you get the kits, make a sample stick of each color - without CP and with CP. At that point, you will have 96 different shades/colors to work with.

OK I give in I'll get the PacBay kits. 1 more newb problem, where can I buy the kits. I've gone through every one of the site sponsors and I can't find anyone who sells them. PacBay's site gives a list of retailer's but none of them sell the kits either.

David

I'm not familiar withe the H&H rods, but the blue on the Loomis rods is either dark blue Gudebrod #246 in size B or if it's a real dark blue it's Gudebrod cobalt blue #50 in size B.
