40 wt is a TINY bit smaller than A. A lot of people (myself included) use Madeira Polyneon (mudhole and Acid rod and possibly other vendors on the left carry it) and other polyesters. Sewing threads are often coated with a silicon lubricant for use in sewing machines and CP should be used on them. I would avoid Rayons or Cotton as they can cause a LOT of problems Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Re: thread 40wt

Glen; I use a lot of Maderia, I like it. The colors available are many and very vibrant. We don't know how the sun is going to effect it over the long haul. I have a number of rods in the field with Maderia thread on them, but no reports as of yet. Re: thread 40wt

Glen: DITTO on what Mike and Jay have said. Keep in mind that the CP you use might darken your thread a shade or two. To get close to what your CP is going to make the thread look like, buy a sample card of all the colors and put at least a couple of coats over the threads. That will get you close. The other variable is the color of the rod that you're going to use. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys,
I will keep that in mind on the color change for sure. Don't get me wrong I like the Gudebrod thread, but there is a lot more colors in the ebroidery world and I wished they would make it in D size, since I build a lot of surfrods, I guess I could double wrap the guides. Well I will try and see what happens. Thanks for the info. Glen I Was Born Without Gills, Therefore I Fish! Love The Wife! Live Long! Fish Till You Die!
