Finish on SF Question

While finishing some low profile Fuji single foot guides finish wants to "fill" that small gap between blank and where leg turns upward-Do I keep clearing that spot until it quits filling itself? Using very little finish-I can't see how it can be a problem of too much.
Tom, got my new one-as a newbie starving for info I need them all to be about an inch thick! I'm about halfway through all previous posts. Love that casting handle-looks like it could fitted for a scope.

Did you put a bumper wrap in front of the guide? I would fill the tunnel.

Chris - keep clearing that spot until it quits filling - usually 40-50 minutes + or - . I wipe back there with a steel spatula every 10 minutes while I'm working on wrapping or handles on other rods.

Thank you Mr. Forhan-that's the only thing I could think of to do. I confess to not having practiced your proven wrapping method enough to use it on what is only my 2nd assembling attempt. After trying several tries I chickened out and just straight wrapped them. I'll be better prepared on #3. Just couldn't seem to get wraps tight at that point. Heck, it's not even a spiral. It's a gift for a great friend and I know he will love it. First split grip/no foregrip assembly. Six ft.-eight inch Medium casting rod on a $15 All Star blank. Baby steps. I am pleased that I was able to keep the weight down to 3.94 oz. finished. Another RBF regular and I are tossing back and forth some ideas right now about putting together a rod that is as seatless as possible. I know that's not groundbreaking stuff but I'm excited about it.

Thanks, Chris
