What do you use to mark the spine and the position of the guides on the blank? In school we used what they called China markers, but I don't know where to get them in Billings MT. If anybody knows of something better to mark the blank (green matrix) with I would appreciate it if you helped me.
Thanks in advance, Mike Re: Marking on Rod Blank

Silver Sharpie marker. Wipes right off with a little acetone. Re: Marking on Rod Blank

China markers can be ordered thru the office depot catalog or go to Mudhole or Anglers workshop. Re: Marking on Rod Blank

Does the acetone harm the blank at all? If not I already have a silver sharpie so cool! Re: Marking on Rod Blank

It's never harmed any blank that I've used it on. Re: Marking on Rod Blank

Wrap a piece of masking tape around the blank. Mark that with a pen or pencil. When ready, remove the tape.

Bill Vivona turned me on to the Pentel white-out pen and I haven't looked back Re: Marking on Rod Blank

On matte blanks I use a pencil, gloss blanks get scratched with the corner of a razor blade. Re: Marking on Rod Blank

I use a normal erasable ink-marker. I also used painter (paper) scotch tape. Alessandro Brunelli Switzerland www.upon-bamboo-fly-fishing-rods-and-reels.com/index.html Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
