Marking on Rod Blank

What do you use to mark the spine and the position of the guides on the blank? In school we used what they called China markers, but I don't know where to get them in Billings MT. If anybody knows of something better to mark the blank (green matrix) with I would appreciate it if you helped me.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Silver Sharpie marker. Wipes right off with a little acetone.

China markers can be ordered thru the office depot catalog or go to Mudhole or Anglers workshop.

Does the acetone harm the blank at all? If not I already have a silver sharpie so cool!

It's never harmed any blank that I've used it on.

Wrap a piece of masking tape around the blank. Mark that with a pen or pencil. When ready, remove the tape.

Bill Vivona turned me on to the Pentel white-out pen and I haven't looked back

On matte blanks I use a pencil, gloss blanks get scratched with the corner of a razor blade.

I use a normal erasable ink-marker. I also used painter (paper) scotch tape.
