Diamondite CP ?

I'm having issues with CP's. I have used the Old Gudebrod, Now I have tried Diamondite.
I did my underwraps and put on 1 coat of Diamondite this time the mounted my guides and wrapped them. Did a second coat of diamondite over everything. I followed this with the Diamondite finish. I really really liked this finish no bubbles long pot life. levels easire then flex coat I had been using... anyway back to the issue. I have areas in the underwrap that look to be darkened. The thread was a light Tan Madeira. I'm guessing these are areas where the CP didn't penetrate? Should I have done more CP?
Very frustrated thinking that I may have to cut this off and redo.

Thanks
Tommy

Light tan is a tough color to use over a dark blank. It requires very careful thread packing. I'm betting that if you look at the thread under magnification, you're going to find that those dark areas are the blank showing through very minute gaps in the thread. More CP isn't likely to have helped.

I just bought some of the Diamondite CP, and used it one time. Put one coat over a green Coats and Clarke trilobal polyester. (btw, this is the type thread I use the most, and it DOESN"T require CP due to silicone issues. I just wanted to preserve the green this time).
It worked great! I was pretty pleased with it's performance, and it is much easier to apply than the old Gudebrod, which always had differing thickness issues. Until I can get some of Andy's new CP, think I will stick with the Diamondite.

Thanks Tom...
Looking at it under magnification that appears to be the case.
As a novice at this I thought it looked pretty good.
The look actually isn't that bad not what I wanted but the rod is for my 6 year old son and has a Camo theme....
The screwup on my part actually gives the guide wraps a breakup sort of look...
My son likes it so thats all that matters for now. Once I get better at this I'll likely re-do it.
