ATC opinions?

I don't know much or hear much about ATC blanks, I know it was Shikari Rods but being pretty new at this I really don't know much about Shikari either. I have a ATC blank on order an ATCII blank # SW1008 and I'm sure their quality is good! Just wondering why I don't hear much about them?

The only ATC blank I have used so far is the MU703. It is a very nice rod, strait, good finish and was consistent with the specs they list for the blank. Their customer service was great also. My blank shipped without a label, I emailed them and they mailed one out immediately.

No expert, but the ATC blank I ordered with the same number as the Shikari wasn't the same blank in action and weight. It was a nice blank, but it also verified what I had heard that ATC has their own ideas in blank design and may integrate some of the Shikari designs as needed.

They are not the same blanks as the shikari blanks. I liked the old shikari blanks way better.

Here's an interesting article to read about ATC. It's an interview with Bob Loomis who heads up ATC.

ATC blanks - so far, so good. I have about 10 more to build and test to see how they compare to the old Shikari equivalents. Several of the old Shikari blanks were amoung the best I ever tested for certain techniques.
