Hi all
New here and just getting started wrapping after a long (20+) absence. My wife has a Brother embroiey machine and we have made up a "logo" that we put on anything we make. I would like to laminate a logo to my rods. I imagine I could just wet the fabric out with epoxy and allow to harden, but I'd like to know if any of you experts have done something like this and if you have any examples? I see myself way down the line getting into weaving and then I would do it that way, but for now this seems to be my best bet. Thanks Ron Re: Embroidery

Depending on what you're using for the material, please take a look at our article in the last RobMaker magazine about using ribbon for a the butt wrap. I think what we did there might work for you.
Rather than take up space here, if you want more infor, plese just email me directly. Uncle Russ Calico Creek Rods Re: Embroidery

Your best bet would be to send your logo to Decal Connection, a sponsor of this board listed to the left of the page. They can make a single decal or a sheet with your logo. Re: Embroidery

Thanks all
The ribon method should work great Lance; I thought about a decal but I would like the demension provided by the embroidery. It truly is a difrent effect. Thanks again Ron Re: Embroidery

Ron, I've done a few embroidered patches. I coat them with two coats of CP, turn down the foregrip a little and install the patch there, then build it back up with epoxy finish. I really like the way they look but some others prefer weaves. To each his own I guess, here's a pic.

Ron,
My wife also has a Brother machine and I've thought about doing something simular for awile now. While I haven't actually tried it I was thinking about this technique. hoop a couple of layers of water soluble stabilzer and them embroider the logo onto that. Don't trim any of the connecting threads. Soak the logo until the stabilizer is gone position the logo on the rod and coat with CP. after the Cp dries enough to keep the logo on the rod go back and trim the connecting threads with a razor blade recoat with cp then epoxy. Like I said never tried it but the shop by us does lace work with the water sol backing and it looks great. HTH Re: Embroidery

Great guys, I like both ideas. Most rods I'm planning on will have cork tape handles, not sure about turning that down for the patch but the effect would be nice. I'm working on the bench now, this will be one of my first experiments.
