Anyone know a good source for low rpm motors? I want to build a wall mounted drying rack for 4 to 5 rods. I can't seem to find any motors that would work.

Also, any advantages to doing a drum style vs. rack style?

Alex,

I used Hankscraft Model E Motors to build my 4 rod wall dryer they are a little expensive around $32.00 each or more but very good motors. There are a lot of different types of motors that will work from $2.00 and up but the cheap motors I got did not last me very long. The Hankscraft Motors has less heat than any other motors I’ve tried. and I never had a Hankscraft motors go bad. I purchase all of the Hankscraft motors from Flex Coat.

The only reason I built a wall dryer was it takes up less room in my shop. My dryer is 10 feet long and will handle a rod up to around 15 foot long if needed (I hope not) and only stick out from the wall 6 inches.

If you have any question let me know.

Alex,

I'm currently building a dryer box that can hold 4 rods and I deal with a company that sells low RPM motors for about $21. I will email you the link directly. Also, it may look like you need to have business to purchase but, you don't.
Hope this helps.

Hankscraft motors are dependable and end up being among the least expensive when you consider the long lifespan they offer.

The Hankscraft motors really do look the goods. Lots of options with a range of RPMs and voltages.
