Thread Master Light

Hello Guys, Im about to finish my thread with TM Light, I have 14 two foot guides. My questions to the panel are, is one coat, or a real light wetting coat, then finish with a second coat later best? If the consensus is two coats, how long after should one apply the 2nd coat?

Thank you in advance, I look forward to your replies.

Cheers,

Greg

I always use at least two coats. Usually 1 lite and then 1 regular. I put the second coat on after about 12 hours as the Lite stays tacky for quite a bit longer than the regular.

Dave

Greg,
We have several large OEM's using this product, and what they are doing is using the lite as a "primer coat" because of the added saturation and flexability, then topping with the High Build because it provides better abrasion resistance, much quicker. If all you have is the Lite, then definately use 2 coats...you'll get a beautiful finish.

I know alot of people use 1 coat of each but since I build for nothing larger than Steelhead/Salmon, I'm comfortable with 2 coats of Lite. First coat on thread only, second coat leaks onto to blank at both ends of the wrap. Rotate and wick off the bottom, rotate and wick, slight warming with alcohol lamp, rotate and wick, sit back and admire . . . . . . this stuff is great.

Both TMs are so simple to use that I hardly have any bad coat. Over here in Singapore lite dries in 6 hrs and regular in 4 at normal room temperature all year round. 2 coats of either will be just superb. Prefer regular as the top coat.
