Thanks for the responses, I normally don't look at any blank as being specific as to spinning or casting, but since these are very purpose built blanks and with the shorter lenghts offered, I didn't know how well they would react to spinning gear.

This type of fishing was primarily done with spinning reels in the beginning because of the high speed retrieve capable. Only in the past couple of years with the newer high speed conventional reels have they begun building them conventional.

Would any one of these blanks fit the bill solely for 2oz. butterfly jigs used in freshwater for lake trout?

Mike the CBVJ6030 is rated 2-4 oz. it is the lightest of the selection.
